My Diabetes Story

A test done to diagnose the cause of recurrent boils confirmed I had developed diabetes.  Despite having a paternal connection, the news was unpleasant.  At first, it was more of an investigation rather than a major issue, But the real struggle began when traditional medicine, With its ever-increasing reliance on medication, Was not my preferred option.

I found myself questioning the path I was on, Asking if there was another way to manage my diabetes.

How was FFD introduced?

Hearsay, and YouTube introduced me to Freedom from Diabetes.

What made me choose FFD?

I wished to reverse my diabetes and regain health. I did not want to opt for traditional medicine. FFD  was offering hope. During the lockdown, When most programs transitioned to online formats, I decided it was time to give it a shot. Although I was initially hesitant, Considering the residential nature of the program, The remote option seemed to be a perfect fit.

Reversal Story

The FFD team studied my case well and designed a tailor-made plan to execute. The results came quicker than expected. My sugars began falling in place.  HbA1c improved from 8+ to 6.2.  I had already managed to lose a few kilograms, Dropping from around 80 kg to about 74 kg.  With FFD's help, I further lost weight to a lowest of 66.5 kg and maintained it at 69~70 kg for the last four years.

I am not on any medication now, Not even supplements or diabetic medicine. I control my blood sugar through diet and exercise. Though my diabetes is not completely reversed, I gained good control over it.

It is not just about shedding kilos; It is about regaining control over my life. I can do things now that I didn’t think were possible before. I took up to regular running - Participated in 10k runs in Marathons in the past couple of years - couple of weeks ago I ran my first half-marathon!

I don’t see many people in my age category, Even non-diabetic, achieving it.

I have found a new relationship with food. Once reliant on white rice as a staple food, I eliminated it from my diet.

My Wife, Ever supportive, Even experimented with alternatives, Using brown rice for traditional South Indian dishes like idli and dosa.
She showed it was possible to still eat similar dishes that I was used to without resorting to traditional but refined ingredients. Knowing what to eat and what not to eat has been the most valuable lesson for me.

With the right Guidance, Determination, And a Willingness to be active, You can do things you never imagined.
