Introduction
Hi All
I am Raghuveeran Venkatraman Gopalan, a 53 years young, Bank Employee from Mumbai. I work for JP Morgan Chase Bank. I have taken a break from my work at the moment.
My diabetes diagnosis
There are lot many causes to have diabetes. Each individual's case is different and needs to be addressed accordingly.
I had a string of deaths in my family. I lost my parents followed by my only sister between 2014 and 2015. Added to that I fractured my leg and had to have a rod implanted in my ankle. Then followed extreme pressure at work.
One day, I started developing a fungal infection and itching sensation in my private part for which I went to a local doctor (Homoeopath). He directed me to do a blood test for diabetes. The report was positive with sugar levels around 285.
Difficulties I faced
I did not face any major issues during that phase. I consulted a Diabetologist/ Cardiologist who had given medications to keep the glucose levels in check.
Physically, except for occasional bouts of tiredness, I did not feel any major health impact. Once every 6 -8 months, I used to have a fungal infection in my groins, and the glucose levels used to go up to about 360-380.

Introduction to FFD
One of my office colleagues had diabetes. While enquiring about his health, he said he is out of diabetes and no longer on any medicines.
On further probing, he said he had attended the FFD program due to which (a) his sugar levels are normal and (b) he was no longer on medication. His name incidentally is Mr. Jayant Deshpande.
FFD journey
I had Covid earlier and had a relapse of the same. It was quite severe. Post-Covid, my sugar levels went down to 42, and post that started going up to about 375 - 380.
My HbA1c was around 12.8. Given this situation and knowing that this could be precedence before it can hit the kidney, I had to take a conscious call to join the program even though I was on a break.
I enrolled in the FFD diabetes reversal program HTP batch 80 based on the feedback given by my friend.
At FFD, I was put through a specific combination of diabetic medications, a diet regimen, and exercises. It took a lot of effort to leave behind some of the old habits like drinking coffee, eating dairy products, and indulging in sweets and ice cream.
Post 15 days, I was taken off diabetic medicine and was only on vitamin supplements.
I must thank Dr. Kiran Vaswani who was monitoring my vitals daily and providing all the encouragement to keep my glucose levels below the threshold. I was ably supported by my diet expert Ms. Beena who was quite patient in clarifying my concerns, and queries. I was also supported by Dr. Aditi Joshi, an exercise expert who was very understanding and patient in guiding me.
Once my periodic reports were updated I had Dr. Charanya call in once a month to discuss the progress and suggest alternatives where necessary.
My weight came down from about 71 kg to 64 kg which was great. Here I was aptly advised about maintaining BMI by the FFD team.
Impression
I feel on top of the world now as I know how to control my food habits to keep glucose levels within normal levels.
The contribution of Dr. Pramod Tripathi has been very inspirational during the sessions I attended. But for him and his FFD team Life as Raghuveeran 2.0 would not have been possible.
