Optimism is no doubt good, but over-optimism is risky. Thank god, I met FFD and saved myself! I am Ms. Shaon Mitra, an Editor and Publisher of ebooks on Amazon Kindle, from Kolkata. I am 51 years young. I do have diabetes on my maternal side.
The year 2012 was the one when I started suffering from a feeling of tingling in both feet, hair loss, constipation, etc. It was quite unusual so I went to see my doctor. The doctor advised me to get my routine tests done as he wanted to rule out certain things but the tests revealed my sugar levels to be high and that I was a diabetic.
Also suffered from acidity, gases, depression, weight gain, back pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, less sensation in feet, stiff toes, etc.
I know several factors cause diabetes, and stress is one of them. Other than general personal stress I also had professional stress. I had taken up too many projects then.
My husband had joined the FFD diabetes reversal program. After he did HTP for 2 months, he insisted that I join. I already knew FFD helps people reverse diabetes successfully.
When I joined FFD, I was on medication. As I started following the program, my medicines got reduced. Now, I am mostly on either 1 or 2 meals a day and only take medicine before I eat.
When I joined FFD, I was 77 kg. My height is 168 cm, so my BMI was between 26 to 27. After joining the program, I could reduce only 4 kg, but my T-shirt size changed from XXL to XL. My waist size reduced from 41.4 inches to 37 inches which was amazing.

FFD taught me many things. I feel great now as I have learned that inner transformation and letting go of past hurts and baggage is the key to reversal. Presently, I am enjoying the Einstein Process of stress reduction. I love the last 3 steps where we accept and respond to the external vagaries of life as opposed to merely reacting to outside stimuli.
One more interesting thing happened. Through the Learned Optimism Session, I found that I am excessively optimistic by nature. While this personality trait is generally considered to be a good thing, the dangers of being too
optimistic are that I have ignored all diabetes warning signs given by my body and this has resulted in my HBA1C reaching 15. Now after following the diet and exercise protocol with about 70 % adherence my HBA1C has reduced to 6.5.
FFD has taught me
1. To be more mindful and cautious
2. Not to give up
3. To link up with my FFD Club which is a great community and support for staying on the reversal journey.
4. Not to stress about the Dawn phenomenon or being totally free of medicine. That will / may happen in due course of time.
5. To live in the present. To let go of the past and stop worrying about the future.
I am on the right track. Thanks a ton, FFD
