In 2004, a blood test revealed that I had diabetes. Despite a strong family history, I never expected to be diagnosed with it, especially at the young age of 30.
In 2014, I received more bad news: I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and hypertension.
By 2019, my doctor determined that I needed insulin therapy, starting me on a dosage that eventually increased to 12 units per day.
