My Diabetes Story

For over a decade and a half, I have been ensnared in the relentless grip of diabetes. As is customary among many Bengalis, my palate favored a non-vegetarian fare.

For more than 10 years, I sought solace in the treatments provided by a renowned diabetic clinical chain.

However, I paid little heed to my dietary indulgences and vices, believing that sporadic exercise and sports would counterbalance them.

How was FFD introduced?

Approximately five years ago, prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, my condition deteriorated into diabetic neuropathy, prompting a swift escalation in medication.

My HbA1c levels soared to 10.25, compounded by the weight of occupational stress.

During this tumultuous period, I found myself watching the esteemed Dr. B.M. Hegde's YouTube discourses, through which I became acquainted with Dr. Pramod Tripathi. Although I yearned to join his program, financial constraints sowed seeds of hesitation.

My FFD Journey

Fate intervened six months ago when debilitating thigh muscle pain forced me to abandon my cherished sports activities. This setback became the catalyst for my enrollment in Dr. Tripathi's program.

Since then, I have endeavored to adhere to the prescribed protocol to the fullest extent. Admittedly, the demands of my profession necessitate frequent travel by train, leading to occasional deviations from the regimen, perhaps once a week or fortnight.

Despite these lapses, within a mere two weeks of joining the program, I managed to rein in my blood sugar levels. Today, my HbA1c has impressively declined to 5.8. Remarkably, my creatinine levels have also improved, descending from 1.4 to below 1.

As a member of the uniformed services, job-related stress is an ever-present companion. Yet, the Freedom From Diabetes (FFD) program has imparted invaluable lessons on managing and acclimating to this ailment. I have rekindled my passion for badminton, observing that engaging in the sport reduces my fasting blood sugar levels to below 100, though I am unable to play consistently. For the first time in my life, I have triumphantly completed a 5-kilometer run and undertaken nine-day fasts.

This week, I cycled for over an hour twice and played badminton in the evenings. Additionally, I’ve been practicing strengthening exercises with a resistance band and doing 24 Surya Namaskars three to four times a week. My weight has significantly dropped from 84 kg at the time of joining FFD to below 76 kg now. I’m thrilled with this transformation! A big thank you to FFD for making this possible.

At times, a wave of emotion washes over me, pondering that, had I adhered to the FFD protocol with unwavering fidelity, I might have liberated myself entirely from the shackles of medication. The luminaries of FFD continually encourage exceptional and outstanding athletic endeavors, serving as a wellspring of motivation, yet I sense there is still a missing piece in my journey.

I remain hopeful and resolute, eager to discover the extent of my potential. My aspirations include achieving complete freedom from medication, successfully passing a glucose tolerance test, and embarking on long-distance cycling adventures. In conclusion, I extend my deepest gratitude to the experts at FFD, offering a profound bow of reverence to Dr. Pramod Tripathi. I also wish to acknowledge Dr. Malhar Ganla, whose versatile genius has been a source of immense inspiration.

I had a one-on-one session with Dr Mayurika Ma'am (Inner Transformation), and after talking to her, I felt truly rejuvenated and highly motivated. As a result, I have increased my exercise routine and started exploring other sports activities like badminton and cycling, which I’ve been practicing over the past week. I’m very grateful to her for the positive impact.
